What We Do

Our Services

The Northern Territory offers a diverse range of work requiring specific architectural design. Over 38 years we have delivered projects across every sector.

Education

Education Projects

From primary school redevelopments to clinical training facilities, we design learning environments that respond to the Territory's unique climate and community needs.

Our education portfolio includes the Alawa Primary School Redevelopment, Angurugu School New Infrastructure, Katherine Hospital Clinical Education Training Facility, Ramingining School Rebuild, and the Tennant Creek Primary School Multi Purpose Hall.

The Stage 1 teaching spaces at Alawa Primary were the first in Darwin to feature WiFi services. At Ramingining, we rebuilt after Cyclone Lam, designing simple structures with large overhangs and extensive landscaping.

Housing

Housing Projects

We deliver housing solutions from remote community staff accommodation to urban medium-density developments, consistently achieving 6-star green ratings through passive solar design.

Bellamack Gardens provided 28 affordable residences on a 1.4ha Master Planned site with a mix of one and two-bedroom dwellings designed for flexible expansion. Gillen Seniors Village created 18 units in Alice Springs, the first of its kind in Central Australia.

We also designed generic house types for NTG staff housing in remote communities, covering 9 house types across both arid and tropical regions.

Commercial

Commercial Projects

Our commercial portfolio spans from purpose-built industrial facilities to community administration buildings and correctional centres.

The Heavy Vehicle Inspection Facility at Truck Central Berrimah is a low energy industrial building featuring south facing skylights, insulated walls and roof, industrial fans and extensive cross flow ventilation.

The Alice Springs Correctional Centre ($40M) remains our largest project to date. We also designed the CSIRO Alice Springs facility upgrades and the Darwin Correctional Centre Medium Security Facility.

Defence Projects

The Mt Bundey Training Area Medical Centre project provided a safe and adequate facility for medical support to Defence personnel during training on a site spanning over 100,000 hectares, approximately 120 kilometres southeast of Darwin.

The facility includes a covered ambulance bay, patient resuscitation bay, treatment rooms, low dependency unit, staff accommodation for civilian air crew, and administration areas.

We also delivered APIN Package 72 for the 1st BASB Transport and Maintenance Company, which received an RAIA NT Chapter Institutional Award Commendation in 1998.

Remote Indigenous

Remote Indigenous Projects

Over 38 years we have undertaken numerous projects in remote indigenous communities in both the arid and tropical regions of the Northern Territory.

We pride ourselves on our ability to communicate effectively with Traditional Owners, local indigenous people and other stakeholders. We understand and work with the issues of distance, communication and buildability while identifying and including local employment opportunities.

Key projects include the Ampilatwatja Health Centre with a 4-chair Renal Dialysis Unit, the Yuendumu Health Centre with separate male and female access, Mutitjulu Health Clinic Upgrade, and the Wadeye Community staff housing using local precast concrete.

Interior Design

Interior Design

Our interior design work creates warm, functional spaces tailored to specific user needs.

The Headspace Katherine project involved extensive consultation with young clients to develop a design that embraced their requirements. Design workshops were held with cliental representatives, and their input was instrumental in developing the final plan.

Particular attention was given to acoustic design of consultation rooms for privacy, integrating Headspace branding, and ensuring security for both staff and clients. The result: welcoming spaces including a Youth Zone, consultation rooms, activity room, and staff facilities.
